Albuquerque, NM – Richard Kuhn, former owner and longtime executive director of recently shuttered New Mexico-based creative agency VWK, has opened RK Venture in Albuquerque. The move comes several years after the passing of VWK founding partner Rick Vaughn. Along with the bulk of VWK’s celebrated creative team, long-time clients NMDOT (New Mexico Department of Transportation), Metrolink (Southern California’s commuter rail system), and the New Mexico State Fair, have made the move with Kuhn to RK Venture.
“Success in our business, whether creating a multi-platform public awareness campaign, introducing a new brand to the marketplace, or reimagining an established brand’s identity, is dependent upon a willingness to be bold and to take chances,” said Richard Kuhn. “I’m extremely proud of the work we did as VWK, but the time was right for a change. I look forward to the new energy that will benefit our current and future clients as a result of the launch of RK Venture.”
Out of the gate, RK Venture will launch the multi-tactic “Kaputnik” underage drinking prevention campaign for NMDOT statewide in New Mexico. In addition, the group has been tapped by LA Metro (Los Angeles County, CA bus and rail system) to develop a transportation facilitating app and website geared toward military veterans, and is on board to produce a multi-platform campaign educating woman on the dangers of using opiates while pregnant, for the Santa Fe Baby Fund. These projects join those already in play for NMDOT, Metrolink, the New Mexico State Fair, and other local and national clients.
